From February 15, Vietnam will no longer restrict the frequency of scheduled international passenger flights.
According to a media guide, Dinh Viet Son, deputy director-general of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration, said the agency had instructed the Vietnam Flight Management Company to issue a news announcement about Vietnam’s cancellation of aviation frequency restrictions starting February 15.
Entry and epidemic prevention regulations for travelers entering Vietnam are still implemented in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Health. The actual flight frequency will be determined by the regulations of national and regional aviation authorities and market demand.
It is understood that as of now, all countries except China have agreed to Vietnam’s proposal to resume flight routes. However, Japan and South Korea are still restricting the entry of flights departing from Vietnam and entering the country to prevent the epidemic.
The head of Vietnam Airlines told the government about the decision that at present, the aviation industry has the conditions to develop the entire international route network. The flight frequency will be gradually increased in accordance with the principles of ensuring safe adaptation, flexibility and effective control of the COVID-19 outbreak. Passengers entering Vietnam must comply with current immigration and medical control regulations.
